Tech N9ne
aka "How I Spent My Saturday" [photo edition]
These two events were such complete polar opposites that I had to post them together.
First, Hilary Clinton's "Solutions for America town hall" at South Eugene.
(Click any image to see the complete gallery from the rally.)
I'm sure a lot of you watched her speech on TV or heard it on KLCC so I'll save you the long summary. But I have to give her credit for doing a Q&A segment with the audience and bringing up the need to better regulate student loan sharks! Overall, I wasn't mad at anything Senator Clinton had to say (just her tardiness).
For the record, I was wrong about Hillary's choice of music. She played Dolly Parton and Gloria Estefan (not Josh Grobin and Celine Dione like I'd previously guessed.) And yeah, the rhythm got me.

Props to this young man for asking some good questions!

This sweet lady lifted our spirits with her enthusiasm and made me feel like I was in church when she wanted to pass around an offering donation plate.

Be sure to check out this week's issue (4/10) for an analysis of Clinton & Obama on environmental issues.

Next, Paul Wall + Tech N9ne at McDonald Theatre
(Click any image to see the complete gallery of shots from Saturday night. )
Paul Wall held it down like a true "People's Champ" Saturday night. He spent a lot of his time in the lobby (before & after his set) shaking hands, meeting everyone, and autographing posters (& boobies).
The scene was NUTS ... packed full of crunk young'ns (as you will see in the photo gallery). I think Tech N9ne sells out every show he plays in Eugene but this was the first time I'd ever heard his music/seen him live. And I gotta say I really enjoyed myself. They had their performance DOWN! Well-rehearsed theatrics. Tight execution. Great light show!
PLUS, this was the first hip hop show that I've attended that sold grills at the merch table!
