How To Download Music Off MySpace, YouTube and Other Sites
There has been lots of talk and much grumbling over at MySpace Music, but perhaps the largest concern is the disappearance of the feature that allows you to download songs (by artists who authorize the download option) so you don't have to use MySpace's shitty media player. MySpace vows that this option will return at some point in the future. Meaning: In the year 2018, when the handful of remaining corporate record labels finally "get it," MySpace will again let artists give away their music for free if they so choose.
In the meantime, head over to DownloadHelper and download the free application, then add the extension to your Mozilla Firefox web browser. I repeat: This add-on only works with Mozilla Firefox at this time. When you go to a band's MySpace page the little DownloadHelper icon is activated if any of the tracks are available for streaming/downloading. This also works on YouTube (so you can download the song and not the damn static video) and a host of other sites. You just have to rename the tracks once downloaded. Sweet!
Still confused? Check out a helpful tutorial from a dude with a drawl who just loves his local hard rock bands:
Forget about bitching on the EW blog, go see a show tomorrow night at the Samurai Duck, Nov. 25th 9pm.

Submitted by Anonymous Coward (not verified) on Tue, 12/30/2008 - 07:54.Just kidding....I just wanted to let you know about six videos I recently posted about Nike/UO issues. The reason is when the over-hyped trials were in Eugene you were one of the only writers who dared write anything questioning the UO team tactics and techno-augmentation. I think you know what I mean...."altitude training" etc. In any case, I examine the dark side of UO and some of their donors and "partnerships". If you would like to find the videos I posted(about an hour in total)go to the Youtube site and do a search there with keywords:nike university of oregon. Also you deserve credit for actually responding to posts at your blog at times. The rest of the blogs at EW seem to be entirely automated which leaves anyone who might contribute wondering if they are ever read or if they are writing to a brick wall. Have a good year Chuck.

I can't speak for other EW bloggers, but I try not to interject too much in blog commenting unless I have some specific follow-up or there's a question I can answer.
I watched 4 of the 6 videos you posted (so far...). It's nice to see your ideas come to light in an audio/visual format. Before I wrap my head around the videos, I'll go ahead and post part one here:

Submitted by Chuck Adams on Fri, 01/02/2009 - 15:57.Thanks Chuck, the videos also show Eugene citizens that CTV channel 29 is there and may investigate things around Eugene that the bigmedia bunch neglects. They have a small operation at CTV but they are clever and open to all points of view on a wide range of issues. I am hoping to do a documentary out at their studio about unnecessary cop shooting incidents in the future. I got interested in that when E.P.D. S.W.A.T. shot me for no reason with their less lethal gun in March of 2003. After I spoke to the media about it I was detained and faced retaliation. Hoping to file a civil suit regarding that case(it was a caught on video) but the civil rights lawyers in Eugene are very elusive. Anyway, glad you are interested and I will check back in the future to see if you have any questions after you finish watching all six videos. If anyone has any questions about the video or topics listed above they should email:mossstreetconspiracy@yahoo.com
