This department of defense research funded by the now infamous "earmarks" does not get enough scrutiny. I hope the Eugene Weekly's editor will approve a entire series on this academic pork-barrel "green" nano spending and it's long term societal implications. The R.G. has only been a greenwasher/cheerleader for it so far and the only local journalist who understands it works freelance for you guys. Wyden(with Defazio's help)passed a 3.7 BILLION dollar package to further this defense related corporate research in the U.S. several years ago.
