Gym Class Heroes MOVED to WOW Hall

We hear a long line of Gym Class Heroes' (pictured above) fans are lining up in front of the McDonald Theatre at this moment, intent on being the first ones through the door for tonight's concert. Problem is, the show was recently moved to the WOW Hall.
This follows a string of venue changes and outright cancellations due to poor advance ticket sales for artists performing at the McDonald Theatre and the Secret House Winery:
DeVotchKa • Scheduled for McDonald; moved to John Henry's
Rev. Horton Heat/Supersuckers/Nashville Pussy • Scheduled for Secret House; moved to WOW Hall
The Avett Brothers • Scheduled for Secret House; moved to WOW Hall; Eugene date cancelled entirely
Gym Class Heroes • Scheduled for McDonald; moved to WOW Hall; fans still in line at McDonald soon to be majorly pissed off
Upcoming Shows at the McDonald that we predict will be moved to smaller venues:
Asylum Street Spankers (Sept. 1)
Xavier Rudd (Sept. 2)
Okkervil River (Sept. 20)
Hieroglyphics & Blue Scholars (Sept. 23)
Gogol Bordello (Oct. 7)
Leo Kottke & Loudon Wainwright III (Oct. 10)
Citizen Cope Solo Acoustic (Oct. 31)
Ray Lamontagne (Nov. 6)
Old Crow Medicine Show (Nov. 11)
that avett bros. cancelled
i predict citizen cope cancels altogether too.

They intend to close the balcony and only focus on ticket sales for the floor area for these shows while peppering in larger draws now and then. Hopefully their exceptional fall lineup will be a success for them so we can continue to get great music to this city. But kudos to you Chuck for hoping failure upon those trying to do positive and different things in Eugene. Very typical of the EW.

Why shouldn't Eugene concertgoers have as many options as possible for live music? I, for one, am tired of driving to Portland for shows. If the WOW Hall is already booked for a particular night, now a band can play the McDonald (or vice-versa) instead of skipping on Eugene altogether.

Clearly no one is buying tickets if they keep cancelling the shows and/or moving them. If there's one thing that the WOW Hall has on them, it's cheaper tickets. If they are going to have smaller WOW Hall-sized shows, there needs to be smaller WOW Hall-sized prices. Also, working on the sound would be a plus. The sound is what prevents a lot of people I know from even going to a show there. I think it's a cool venue all in all, but a few small tweeks might really help them out.
