Signal:Noise Episode 10

The Oregon Summer Episode. We just keep on steamrolling along with another dispatch of Signal:Noise, our 10th issue of semi-intelligible musings and musical selections. Join a sleepy Mr. Chuck as he crafts a podcast worthy of playing while cruising the gauzy nighttime streets of Eugene (or Portland), or speeding over half-moon-lit highways through forests, along coastal bluffs with your brights on or jetting across the open and rugged Oregon Outback in the scorching mid-day heat. Your soundtrack consists of Panda Bear, John Lennon/Yoko Ono Band, She & Him, MGMT, Blind Pilot, Gillian Welch, Billy Bragg & Wilco, The Cave Singers, Jose Gonzalez, Zach Condon and more! This one's a mellow one, balancing out Episode 9's dance freak-out. And remember, iTunes users can subscribe to this podcast by clicking HERE.

Heartbeats

I am so glad you played the whole thing at the end. I was disappointed when you cut it off at the beginning.

Gah! How could your Oregon Summer be complete? We still have a month or two to go! But I thank you for the kudos, Anonymous.

metal or punk in the near future?

lets hear, for a future episode, some black metal, or some punk rock for a radical switch-up.
There are a few monumental tracks off of Enslaved's 2001 album "Monumension". Or if not some good nordic metal how about a little 16 Horse Power or Against Me!...

Well, P. Wilde, I always ask

Well, P. Wilde, I always ask for requests but never get any. You're the first one! I'll see if I can get my hands on any of the bands you mention. And you're right, a little hard(er)core is in order for August...

sink, florida, sink!

I can provide some Against Me and an awesome compilation of Swedish punk and metal bands covering Purple Rain ... appropriately, it's called Purple Pain. 'Course, it's also at least 11 years old, so take that as you will. Isn't this about new music?

EDIT: Oh, and of course I can help with hair metal. I should actually just DO a hair metal podcast. Except even if I hadn't gotten rid of most of my collection, it was all on tape. Still got some Poison, some Trixter, some L.A. Guns, though...

I'm still discovering "new"

I'm still discovering "new" music that's been out there for at least 10, 20, 50 years. My first episode was the "New" episode, but I've been flexible since then. Point in case on Ep10: John Lennon/Yoko Ono.

Why the F haven't I been listening to more Lennon/Ono recently?

Metal, Rock Influence?

Will the show be featuring additional formats in the near future?
