The Bright, Money-Making Night

So The Dark Knight Returns (damn, that's a hard habit to break) made $18 million from midnight showings last night — er, this morning.

That's a lot of dollars. That's more than some movies I could name made in their entire opening weekends.

... and that's all I've got. Until tomorrow, at least. Trying to hide from all the reviews out there gets more difficult by the minute.

It was really good!

My brother and I threw in 20 on that 18 mil last night. Did not disappoint.

& I never thought I'd say this, but Ledger is probably a better Joker than Jack.

I hear ya. I am

I hear ya. I am super-against spoilers, and I currently feel like I myself am a sort of Gotham City ne'r-do-well, fleeing this way and that down twisted dark allies, the pointy-eared, caped spoilers breathing down my neck...

why so spoiler-phobic?

I kid, I kid. I just needed a damn subject line. Seriously, though, I have friends who went to screenings and whose thoughts I'm horribly curious about, but I just! can't! read!

And by the way, Aaron, once I sorted out the whole am vs. pm thing on Fandango (it's not very often I look at am movie times, I guess) I determined that I'm going to the 10 am showing too. So maybe I'll see you there!

You're crazy. Actually, I

You're crazy. Actually, I nearly said "batshit," just for fun.

The thing that sucked about Batman Begins was Katie Holmes, not the whole movie.

I agree ...

You crazy man. The original Batman, Batman Begins (and now The Dark Knight) are the only good ones.

I'd prefer Batman Returns to

I'd prefer Batman Returns to Batman Begins any day of the week.

Yes, Katie Holmes was a major flaw of Begins, but also Christian Bale, Liam Neeson and Cillian Murphy (whose talents were wasted in a stupid CGI gunnysack costume). I think when Batman roars, actually actually ROARS in Batman Begins, that's when I started hating it.

oh yeah ... the roar!

i will agree bale's batman voice is pretty laughable.
