The Big Milonga

Too late for the Calendar this week: Greg Bryant tells us a big fundraiser is happening from 8 pm to 1 am Saturday night, March 14, at the Tango Center, 194 W. Broadway downtown. The event is part of the nonprofit’s efforts to raise $5,000 to pay off back rent and continue under a new lease. The popular center has been struggling to stay afloat.

The event, a special night of Argentine Tango social dance (called a milonga) starts at 8 pm with a introduction lesson and a separate intermediate lesson for experienced dancers. Cost is $7-$10 sliding scale. No partner is necessary. The night will include a silent auction, food and performances. See http://www.tangocenter.org
